Henry Funkenbusch founded SignOne in 1991 after working as a manufacturer’s representative, a buyer for a major mail-order company and a merchandise coordinator for a direct-mail firm.
Because of his many years of experience in these positions, Henry brought a keen appreciation for innovation and a strong focus on customer service to his new venture, and it soon began to thrive. In 1995, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce honored Henry as its Small Business Person of the Year.

SignOne since has evolved into a trusted resource for signs and graphics among area businesses, organizations and institutions, such as the American Hospital Association, Mather LifeWays and Northwestern University.

When he’s not consulting with customers and overseeing production and installation of their signs and graphics, Henry participates actively in business and community groups, including the Evanston, Skokie, Wilmette and Winnetka chambers of commerce, Chicago’s North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Kiwanis Club of Evanston, the Northwestern Gridiron Network, the Northwestern Fast Break Club, and the National Sports Marketing Network.

Henry also attends conferences sponsored by the International Sign Association,  the United States Sign Council and other business organizations to ensure that SignOne stays on the leading edge of innovations in the sign and graphics industry.

Sharon Rogak, head graphic designer and shop manager, is a 15-year SignOne veteran. She consults with customers about their needs, creates distinctive designs that transform  customers’ vision into reality, and handles the layout and production of signs and graphics.
A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Sharon is an expert on materials, colors and all other creative aspects of the design and production process. She also understands the importance of deadlines and manages SignOne’s operations to ensure on-time delivery of all orders.

Pam Smith, customer service manager, helps customers from the moment they first call or visit SignOne.
Pam, who joined SignOne more than six years ago, has a strong background in the hospitality industry, having worked previously as a hotel customer service specialist. Organized and detail-oriented, she explains SignOne’s capabilities to customers, helps them decide what type of sign or graphic they want, develops quotes, and tracks orders to make sure they stay on schedule.

Michael Moore, graphic designer, joined SignOne in 2007. He brainstorms with customers and then applies his artistic abilities to customize designs based on customers’ needs and objectives.

A student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Michael also is a painter whose work has been displayed at local art shows.
